Occurrence, Distribution and Health Risk of Short-Chain Chlorinated Paraffins (SCCPs) in China: A Critical Review

چکیده

With being listed in the Stockholm Convention, ban on short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) has been put agenda China. Based literature over past decade, this study comprehensively analyzed occurrence, distribution of and human exposure to SCCPs China, aiming provide a reference for changes after ban. were ubiquitous environmental matrices, levels considerably higher than those other countries. from emission region 2–4 orders magnitude background area. Environmental processes may play an important role SCCP profiles environment, C10 Cl6 identified as potential factors distinguishing their spatial distribution. River input was dominant source sea areas, atmospheric transport main remote inland areas. Ingestion dermal absorption food intake pose risk residents, especially children infants. More studies are needed temporal trend, degradation. The enactment restriction order will have great impact China’s CP industry; nevertheless, it positive remediation pollution environment.

Evaluating the environmental fate of short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) in the Nordic environment using a dynamic multimedia model.

Short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) raise concerns due to their potential for persistence, bioaccumulation, long-range transport and adverse effects. An understanding of their environmental fate remains limited, partly due to the complexity of the mixture. The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether a mechanistic, integrated, dynamic environmental fate and bioaccumulation multimedia...

Short-chain Chlorinated Paraffins in Biota – Levels and Effects

Short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) are highly complex technical mixtures of polychlorinated n-alkanes with carbon-chain lengths from C10-C13 and chlorine content between 49 and 70%. They are produced by chlorination of n-alkanes and do not occur naturally. Because of their physical properties (viscosity, flame resistance) they are used in many different applications, such as lubricant ad...

Levels and distribution patterns of short chain chlorinated paraffins in sewage sludge of wastewater treatment plants in China.

Short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) are listed as persistent organic pollutant candidates in the Stockholm Convention and are receiving more and more attentions worldwide. In general, concentrations of contaminants in sewage sludge can give an important indication on their pollution levels at a local/regional basis. In this study, SCCPs were investigated in sewage sludge samples collected...

Effects of short-chain chlorinated paraffins on soil organisms.

Despite the fact that chlorinated paraffins have been produced in relatively large amounts, and high concentrations have been found in sewage sludge applied to soils, there is little information on their concentrations in soils and the effect on soil organisms. The aim of this study was to investigate the toxicity of chlorinated paraffins in soils. The effects of short-chain chlorinated paraffi...

Development of a method for the determination of SCCPs (short-chain chlorinated paraffins) in bivalve mollusk using Soxtec device followed by gas chromatography-triple quadrupole tandem mass spectrometry

Background: Organochlorinated compounds are major environmental concern due to their persistence, long-range transportability and bio-accumulation. Chlorinated paraffin (CP) mixtures, especially short-chain CPs (SCCPs), are found in environmental samples at very high levels. However, information about their levels is still insufficient, mainly in marine biota. Methods: This study aimed to optim...
